	Introductory Proseminar > a one-week seminar introducing students to the broad range of bioethics topics, from policy and current issues to clinical and research ethics. On-Line History and Theory Courses > covering healthcare policy, biomedical ethics, clinical ethics, bioethics and the law, empirical research methods, research ethics, reproductive ethics, and the philosophical foundations of bioethics. Electives > Elective courses allow students to pursue areas of bioethics beyond the core areas, satisfying their own individual needs and interests. Competency-Based Practica > On-line and on-site courses built around supervised practical exercises and case studies including the use of standardized patients or research participants to train students in the analysis, communication, mediation, and moral reasoning skills required of professional bioethicists. Individual Masters Projects > A thesis, project, or initiative investigating an area of bioethics and resulting in recommendations regarding bioethics policy or practices. Working one-on-one with an advisor and exploring an issue in depth that interests them. Capstone Assessments > Evaluation of student mastery of the knowledge and skills in one or more areas of bioethics (clinical bioethics, health policy, or research ethics) using the facilities of the renowned Morchand Center for Clinical Competence.
