Professor Robert Baker is Appointed to the UNESCO International Scientific Committee 

Prof. Robert Baker, director UGC Center for Bioethics has been appointed to the UNESCO Scientific Committee on Bioethics Ethics Education which is currently arranging a conference on bioethics education to be held in Tiberias Israel Sept 2-5 2012.    http://www.isas.co.il/bioethics2012/ The Conference is designed to offer a platform for the exchange of information and knowledge, and to hold discussions, lectures, workshops and exhibition of programs and databases

Dr. Baker's is also director of a national taskforce charged with developing standards for accrediting clinical ethics training programs. The taskforce was appointed by the American Society of Bioethics and Humanities, the world's largest bioethics society, and the Association of Bioethics Program Directors.

UGC, in conjunction with the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in NYC, has developed The Bioethics Program, an innovative graduate-level bioethics education program that adopts techniques and standards used in physician training to train the clinical ethics consultants who work on hospital ethics committees. The program also provides graduate bioethics training for researchers, practitioners, advocates and policy makers.
