Bioethics Program Graduate, M. Wayne Cooper, has been asked to teach a mini course at

The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler.

 

The mini course will be offered to the members of the Ethics Committee.

Here is a summary of the course:

 

 

June 8: History of Bioethics – the two sources of Bioethics or

      �Would the Hippocratic Oath have prevented Auschwitz?�

 

July 13: Capacity – How Bioethics Differs from Law

 

August 10: Bioethics and the Law – Where They Agree

 

November 9: Informed Consent – the backbone of contention.

 

December 14: Discontinuing Life Saving Treatment – the continuing battle, with consideration of how transplantation has impacted the decisions

 

Jan 11: A Rational Approach to Ethics Decision Making

 

Feb 8: Surrogacy

 

Mar: Ethics Consults
